Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with strong NEC contract experience looking for your next opportunity within the Energy Transmission & Distribution sector?

We are recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of major substation projects across Melksham working within a Transmission & Renewables team delivering infrastructure at voltages up to 400kV.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects, working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, subcontractors and clients to manage cost, risk and contractual performance.

Job Role

  • Managing the commercial aspects of projects from inception through to final account
  • Administering NEC3 / NEC4 contracts, including Early Warnings and Compensation Events
  • Producing CVRs, forecasts and commercial reports
  • Managing project costs, budgets and financial performance
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
  • Procurement and commercial management of subcontractors
  • Managing variations and Compensation Events
  • Negotiating and agreeing costs with clients and subcontractors
  • Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers and wider delivery teams
  • Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff where required

Requirements

  • Strong experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor
  • NEC3 or NEC4 contract experience – essential
  • Strong subcontractor and commercial management experience
  • Experience with CVRs, forecasting, cost control and change management
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Able to attend substation sites across South Wales at least 3 days per week
  • Previous substation, HV, power or Transmission & Distribution experience would be advantageous
