Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with NEC and Power/Substation experience looking for your next contract opportunity within the Transmission & Distribution sector?
We are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a major energy infrastructure contractor, supporting the commercial delivery of a National Grid substation project.
You will work closely with the project and commercial teams, taking responsibility for the day-to-day commercial management of the works. This will include NEC contract administration, cost control, CVRs, forecasting, compensation events, subcontractor management and commercial reporting.
Previous substation or power sector experience is essential for this requirement, alongside strong practical knowledge of NEC contracts.
Job Role
- Managing the commercial aspects of the project through to final account
- Administering NEC contracts, including Early Warnings and Compensation Events
- Preparing and managing payment applications
- Producing CVRs, forecasts and commercial reports
- Managing project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
- Managing subcontractor procurement and commercial administration
- Managing variations and agreeing associated costs
- Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers and the wider delivery team
- Liaising with the client and other key project stakeholders
- Supporting the commercial delivery of the project and ensuring contractual requirements are met
Requirements
- Substantial experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor
- Previous Substation / Power experience - essential
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts
- Experience managing Compensation Events, Early Warnings and payment applications
- Strong cost management, CVR and forecasting experience
- Experience managing subcontractors and commercial packages
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills
- Experience working on major infrastructure projects
- Full UK Driving Licence
This is an urgent requirement, with the initial contract running until 30 June 2027, offering £450-£550 per day depending on experience.
