Senior Quantity Surveyor – Residential Developer

Up to £80k plus package

A growing and well-established SME residential developer is looking to recruit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team.

The business has an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality, sustainable residential developments across Hertfordshire and Essex and has a strong pipeline of upcoming projects.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking to join a smaller developer where they can take ownership of their projects, have genuine input into the business and work closely with the senior management team.

The Role

• Full commercial responsibility for residential developments.
• Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
• Preparing tender documentation and analysing subcontractor returns.
• Managing subcontractor valuations, payments and variations.
• Producing monthly cost reports, CVRs and forecasts.
• Monitoring project budgets and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
• Managing variations and change control.
• Negotiating and agreeing final accounts.
• Working closely with construction and technical teams throughout the development lifecycle.
• Ensuring projects are delivered within agreed budgets and commercial targets.

The Candidate

• Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
• Residential developer/housebuilder experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of residential construction.
• Experience commercially managing developments from procurement through to final account.
• Strong subcontractor procurement and negotiation experience.
• Good understanding of cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs.
• Commercially aware with the ability to take ownership of projects.
• Comfortable working within a smaller, hands-on developer environment.
