Conrad Consulting are delighted to be working with a leading commercial and project management consultancy who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support a major infrastructure project in Suffolk.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a high-profile project team and play a key role in the successful commercial delivery of a significant infrastructure scheme.

The role will involve working closely with the wider project and commercial teams, providing effective commercial management and ensuring the project is delivered in line with contractual, financial and programme requirements.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for a range of commercial and quantity surveying duties, including:

  • Providing commercial and quantity surveying support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Managing costs, budgets and financial reporting.
  • Supporting contract administration and commercial management.
  • Preparing and reviewing valuations, variations and applications for payment.
  • Managing change and assessing commercial impact.
  • Supporting procurement and subcontract management.
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Working closely with project managers, contractors and other stakeholders.
  • Providing accurate commercial reporting to senior management.
  • Ensuring contractual obligations and commercial procedures are followed.
About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within the infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering or construction sectors.
  • Previous experience working on large-scale projects.
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a wider project team.
  • Strong analytical and financial management skills.
  • A relevant Quantity Surveying or commercial qualification is desirable.
  • Professional membership such as RICS or equivalent would be advantageous.
The Opportunity

This is an urgent requirement and represents a great opportunity to join an established consultancy and work on a major infrastructure project with significant long-term commercial exposure.

The role is based in the Bury St Edmunds area, with a requirement for a minimum of two days per week on site, alongside hybrid working arrangements.
