Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor – £8m Commercial Refurbishment

🔶 Freelance contract | 12 months | Site-based

An established construction business is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to take commercial ownership of an £8m commercial refurbishment project.

This is a hands-on role covering pre-construction through to completion, with significant externals, roofing, façade and refurbishment works alongside CAT A office fit-out.

🔶 Key responsibilities:

• Review designs and existing conditions to establish the required scope of works
• Build accurate budgets and costs during the pre-construction phase
• Take full commercial control once the project moves into construction
• Prepare tender packages and assess subcontractor returns
• Select and recommend subcontractors and place purchase orders
• Manage variations, valuations, payments and cost reporting
• Review and administer the main contract
• Work closely with the Project Manager and wider site team

🔶 Experience required:

• Senior QS / Commercial Manager background within construction
• Strong commercial refurbishment and externals experience
• Proven knowledge of roofing, façades and building construction
• D&B commercial office / CAT A fit-out experience
• Comfortable being fully site-based and owning the project commercially
