With over 30 years heavy civil engineering and infrastructure experience, our client offers an integrated project delivery solution for their clients within the construction and infrastructure sectors.

Due to the new project wins, our client requires a Senior Quantity Surveyor from a Tier 2 self-delivery background, on a long-term contract basis.

Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor roles and responsibilities:

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for commercial administration of self-delivery of either a large stand alone project or portfolio of smaller civil engineering projects. You will be responsible for:

  • Day to day commercial administration of civils packages.
  • Reviewing progress on site in line with commercials and programme.
  • Monitoring, forecasting and reporting on budgets and costs against programme and producing CVR's.
  • Reviewing payment applications and agreeing monthly payment valuations.
  • Agreeing instructions, change and processing variations.
  • Undertaking Take-off's and Remeasurements as required.
  • Managing Change, Variation and Dispute Resolution.
  • Attending client and project progress meetings.
  • Agreeing Final Accounts.

Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or similar qualification and relevant experience.
  • 5+ years' experience working on Civil Engineering projects, able to price and deliver.
  • Subcontractor and self-delivery experience required.
  • NEC contract experience.
  • Self-sufficient, able to manage projects from start through to Final Accounts.
  • Strong Change Management, Variation and Dispute Management experience.
  • Happy to be office / site based.
