Senior Quantity Surveyor

Rogers McHugh Recruitment

About you

If you are a Senior Quantity Surveyor with experience in drylining, or you have worked closely with drylining packages and understand how those projects are delivered, this could be a really good fit for you.

You will enjoy being part of a growing business where your opinion matters and where you are trusted to manage your own workload. This is a role for someone who wants to be involved in the commercial side of projects from start to finish rather than feeling like a small part of a much larger team.

The role is office and site based, with projects mainly across the North West, so you will have a good balance between being out with clients and project teams and spending time in the office.

Your experience

You will already be working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, or you could be an experienced Quantity Surveyor ready to take the next step.

A background in drylining would be ideal, although the key requirement is that you understand drylining projects and the commercial challenges that come with them.

You will be confident managing project costs, valuations, variations, subcontractor accounts and final accounts. Most of the commercial work is completed using Excel, although the business also has access to Chalkstring, so experience with either would be useful.

Experience working on commercial projects such as hotels, residential developments, office fit outs or hospitals would be an advantage.

What you will be doing with your experience

You will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects ranging from £100,000 through to £4 million.

Working closely with the leadership team, you will oversee costs, maximise project profitability and build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors. You will have the opportunity to influence how the commercial function develops as the business continues to grow.

Projects are mainly based across the North West, giving you the chance to work on a varied portfolio across the hotel, residential, office and healthcare sectors.

About the business

This is an established specialist contractor with an annual turnover of around £4 million and a strong pipeline of work across the North West.

The business has built a solid reputation for delivering quality projects and is continuing to grow steadily. You will be joining a close knit team where decisions are made quickly, communication is straightforward and your contribution will be recognised.

The salary on offer is between £50,000 and £60,000 depending on your experience.
