Senior Quantity Surveyor

Skilled Careers are working with a rapidly growing property services business delivering repairs and maintenance, planned works, voids, compliance, retrofit and refurbishment services across the social housing sector. Due to continued growth and the development of its commercial function, they are looking to appoint an ambitious Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of significant commercial responsibility while working closely with an experienced Commercial Manager and helping shape the future structure of the commercial team.

Job Description

• Managing the commercial performance of property services contracts across repairs and maintenance, planned works, voids, refurbishment and associated works.
• Taking ownership of key commercial responsibilities, including cost control, forecasting, valuations, subcontractor management and overall contract performance.
• Supporting the development of the wider commercial team, including Project Quantity Surveyors, Trainee Quantity Surveyors and other junior commercial staff.
• Working closely with the Commercial Manager in Langley to strengthen commercial processes, systems and ways of working across a growing property services division.
• Developing into a key senior figure within the commercial structure, with the opportunity to progress towards Commercial Manager or Managing Quantity Surveyor level over time.

Skills / Qualifications

• Property Services Experience within repairs and maintenance, planned works, voids, refurbishment, social housing or a closely related environment.
• Senior Quantity Surveyor Experience with the ability to manage commercial responsibility, take ownership and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
• Strong Commercial Skills across contract management, cost control, forecasting, valuations and commercial reporting.
• Leadership Potential with the ability to support, develop and provide guidance to more junior Quantity Surveyors and commercial staff.
• Career Ambition with the attitude and desire to develop into a future Commercial Manager or senior commercial leadership position within the business.
