Senior Quantity Surveyor - Offshore Wind
Contract: 12-month contract (possible extension)
Start Date: ASAP (End of August)
Rate: £450- £550/ day outside IR35, depending on experience
Location: Home-based, with regular travel to the sites in the Northeast and Yorkshire
Turner Lovell are recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a major energy infrastructure project.
The role will focus heavily on claims management, Extension of Time (EOT), quantum assessment and cost substantiation, working closely with project and commercial teams to ensure project events and associated costs are accurately captured and supported.
Key Responsibilities

  • Support upstream and downstream claims, including preparation and substantiation.
  • Identify and track project events that may create commercial entitlement.
  • Maintain EOT and compensation event records.
  • Prepare quantum assessments, cost analysis and supporting evidence.
  • Track project activities and costs against relevant work packages.
  • Prepare cost reports, forecasts and commercial summaries.
  • Support trend analysis and identification of commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate, auditable and contract-compliant records.
  • Work closely with project, site, logistics, finance and supply chain teams.
  • Support commercial negotiations and discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with project reviews, risk assessments and wider commercial reporting.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor, Commercial Manager or Cost Manager on major projects.
  • Strong experience in claims, EOT, quantum assessment and cost substantiation.
  • Background in construction, infrastructure, energy or other major project environments.
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyse complex project information and develop clear commercial positions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with large-scale package delivery or EPC/EPCI contracts is advantageous.
  • Experience in offshore wind, renewables, marine or major infrastructure would be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of FIDIC or other standard forms of contract is advantageous.
  • RICS/chartered status and formal disputes/claims experience would be beneficial.
