This is a role suited to a Senior QS who is comfortable operating in a pre-construction/design environment and working closely with the project management, planning and design teams to develop the scheme through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Take commercial responsibility for elements of the project from design through to delivery.
- Lead and manage procurement activities, ensuring packages are procured effectively and commercially.
- Develop and manage Schedules of Works and associated pricing documentation.
- Prepare, negotiate and manage subcontract agreements.
- Develop procurement and commercial strategies in conjunction with the wider project team.
- Work closely with the Planning and Design Teams to develop and package the works.
- Assist with planning and sequencing packages of work to support project delivery.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering, evaluation and commercial negotiations.
- Monitor costs, budgets, forecasts and commercial performance.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
- Administer and manage contracts in accordance with NEC principles.
- Work collaboratively with the project management and site teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
- Provide commercial advice and reporting to senior project stakeholders.
- Support the project as it progresses from design development into construction.

You will ideally have:
- Proven experience operating at Senior Quantity Surveyor level.
- Strong NEC contract experience.
- Demonstrable experience in procurement and subcontract management.
- Experience producing and managing Schedules of Works.
- Strong understanding of subcontract agreements and commercial negotiations.
- Experience working alongside planning and design teams to develop packages of work.
- The ability to operate effectively during the design/pre-construction phase.
- Strong commercial awareness and excellent attention to detail.
- Experience working for a main/national contractor.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Why Join?
