Are you an experienced Residential Support Worker looking to take the next step in your career?

We are recruiting for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a specialist 2-bed children's residential home in Coventry, supporting young people aged 8-17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

This is an excellent opportunity to join a trauma-informed, relationship-based service committed to providing a safe, stable and nurturing environment where children can thrive.

The Role

As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the home, leading shifts, supporting colleagues and helping to deliver high-quality care and support to young people.

You will work closely with the management team to promote positive outcomes, safeguard children and maintain high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead shifts and support the smooth operation of the home
  • Act as a positive role model for children and colleagues
  • Support children with their daily routines, education and independence skills
  • Complete care plans, reports and other required documentation
  • Promote safeguarding and positive behaviour support strategies
  • Support and mentor less experienced members of staff
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, families and other professionals

Requirements

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (England) - Essential
  • Full UK Driving Licence - Essential
  • Previous experience within a Children's Residential Home
  • Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties
  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and understanding of children's residential care regulations
  • Ability to lead shifts and support less experienced team members
  • Calm, resilient and child-focused approach

  • £14.00 - £15.00 per hour depending on experience
  • £60 per sleep-in
  • Average 171 contracted hours per month
