Senior Residential Childcare Worker

Location: South Staffordshire
Salary: OTE £34,500+ per annum

Basic: £29,500 basic salary
Sleep-In Rate: £62.75 per sleep-in (average of 7+ sleep-ins per month)

About the Role

Lilac Alliance is looking for a Senior Residential Childcare Worker to join a specialist prep-for-fostering service in South Staffordshire.

This unique service supports children aged 5–16, providing a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment to help them process their emotions, build resilience and prepare for long-term foster placements.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced childcare professional who is passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that promote emotional wellbeing.
  • Support children with their daily routines, education and personal development.
  • Promote positive behaviour and provide therapeutic support.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to care planning.
  • Work closely with colleagues and external professionals to achieve the best outcomes for each child.
  • Lead by example and support the wider staff team to deliver outstanding care.

Requirements

  • Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Children & Young People's Workforce (or equivalent)
  • Full UK Driving Licence (and willingness to add business insurance)
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Previous experience working with children and young people in a residential setting
  • A caring, resilient and passionate approach to supporting vulnerable children
