Shire is working in partnership with a well-established provider of children's residential services to recruit a Senior Residential Children's Worker for a children's home in the Denton area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Residential Childcare Worker looking to take the next step in their career. Previous senior experience is not essential, as our client offers excellent support, training and development opportunities within a nurturing and rewarding environment.

You will be part of a dedicated team supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them achieve positive outcomes and reach their full potential.

The Role

  • Permanent position
  • 38 hours per week
  • Sleep-ins required
  • Opportunity to progress into leadership and management roles
  • Enrolment onto Level 5 qualification

As a Senior Residential Children's Worker, you will:

  • Lead shifts and take responsibility for the welfare of children and staff during your shift.
  • Support children and young people using a person-centred approach.
  • Safeguard children and report any concerns in line with safeguarding procedures.
  • Ensure staff are kept informed of updates to policies, procedures and best practice.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, supervisions and training.
  • Raise any staffing or operational concerns with the Registered Manager.
  • Liaise effectively with parents, carers and external professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Be willing to provide support across other homes within the organisation when required.

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children and young people within a residential childcare setting.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • A passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.
  • Full UK driving licence preferred.
