About Us

Assist Care is a 2 bed Children's Home (EBD) in Coventry specialising in providing high-quality trauma-informed care to children and young people aged 7 - 17 with Emotional and/or Behavioural Difficulties in a safe, supportive and nurturing environment.

Role: Senior Residential Support Worker / Team Leader - Children’s Home (EBD).

Salary:  £14.20 - £16.50 per hour + £60 sleep-in. (dependent on experience/qualifications)

Key Responsibilities;

  • Lead shifts and support the team to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children, promoting their safety, well-being, and development.
  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and safeguarding practices.
  • Support and mentor junior staff, promoting a positive and supportive team culture.
  • Engage in key work sessions, activity planning, and daily routines.
  • Support the management team with audits, reports, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a residential childcare setting.
  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Children & Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent) – essential.
  • Commitment to undertaking Level 5 Diploma in Leadership (if not already held).
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care and child development.
  • Resilient, compassionate, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence – desirable.
