A leading Medical Device Manufacturer is seeking an experienced and technically skilled Senior Setter to join the Control Room team supporting the manufacture of allergy lancets. This hands-on role is central to maintaining process stability, ensuring product quality and supporting efficient production within a regulated environment.

The successful candidate for Senior Setter will be responsible for machine setting, process control, troubleshooting and providing technical support to operators, while ensuring all activities comply with GMP, quality and health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities of Senior Setter:

  • Set, adjust and maintain bespoke automated lancet‑assembly machinery and small precision 6‑ton presses
  • Monitor and control production processes from the Control Room to ensure consistent quality, efficiency and minimal downtime
  • Carry out tooling changes, machine calibrations and process adjustments as required
  • Diagnose faults and troubleshoot equipment and process issues quickly and effectively
  • Provide technical guidance, support and training to production operators
  • Supervise Setter(s) within the Control Room, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to standards
  • Complete production and quality documentation accurately and in line with GMP requirements
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality and Production teams to drive process improvements and reduce waste
  • Ensure all activities comply with GMP, SOPs and company health & safety procedures
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with production trials
  • Maintain high housekeeping and hygiene standards within the production area

Skills and Experience Required by Senior Setter:

  • Previous experience as a Setter, Senior Setter or Process Technician within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience within medical device, pharmaceutical or other regulated manufacturing environments is highly desirable
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to read and follow technical procedures, production documentation and compliance requirements
  • Good understanding of quality standards, GMP and process control
  • Confident communicator with the ability to support, guide and train production teams
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing high quality products

Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Hours of Work:  Mon-Thurs 7 am to 4.30 pm, Fri 7 am to 11 am
Salary:   Up to £35,000 dependent upon experience
Contract: Permanent
