GreenScout are working exclusively with a major player within the HV industry, who urgently require a SHEQ Manager on an initial 3 month contract.

Direct reports: SHESQ Advisors, Administrators, Coordinators  

Liaising with: Operational & Support Function Management / Teams, Supply Chain Partners & Customers   

Role Overview

Reporting to a Head of Function, who provides day to day line management. Senior Managers will also provide strategic partnering with aligned business units to drive proactive / leading SHESQ leadership in the identification of risk management and development of effective and proportionate assurance, however, are generally aligned to more complex business areas or stakeholders where additional experience / expertise is essential.

The Senior SHESQ Manager operates at a more strategic, influential, and leadership-focused level than the SHESQ Manager role and shall provide broader leadership teams and provide additional support in managing more complex matters. In addition to delivering core SHESQ management responsibilities, this role is accountable for shaping direction, driving consistency, and influencing performance across multiple projects, regions, and/or business units.

Decision making authority; empowered to stop or halt operations deemed to pose risk of significant health, safety or environmental breaches and impose sanction or improvement action accordingly.

Skills & Experience

Essential Functional / Technical Skills:

  • NEBOSH Diploma / Degree or equivalent and preferably Chartered Member of IOSH (or actively working towards) as minimum.
  • Commensurate / complementary level qualification in Environmental or Quality disciplines desirable
  • IT Skills – capable use of Microsoft Office software suit (word, excel etc.) and ability to interact with company systems.
  • Lead Auditor (45001 and/or 14001) (desirable)
  • Full UK Driving License and willingness to travel.
  • ILM L5 (or equivalent & working towards)
