Senior Site Manager – Planned Works

Build Recruitment are working with a well-established contractor to recruit a Senior Site Manager to join their social housing planned works division on a permanent basis.

The role will oversee a range of planned works programmes across externals, kitchens & bathrooms and window replacements, with a key focus on driving the delivery of a backlog of works and getting programmes back on track.

The business already has a strong team of Supervisors in place, so this is a senior operational role focused on driving the project, managing performance and leading the team.

The Role

You will work closely with the Operations Manager and client to drive programme performance, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Taking ownership of multiple social housing planned works programmes.

  • Driving the delivery of a backlog of outstanding works and improving programme performance.

  • Managing and supporting an established team of Supervisors.

  • Coordinating works across external refurbishment, K&B and window programmes.

  • Monitoring progress, productivity, quality and Health & Safety.

  • Providing regular reporting and updates to the Operations Manager.

  • Acting as a key point of contact for the client and maintaining strong relationships.

  • Identifying issues and implementing solutions to keep programmes moving.

  • Working closely with commercial and operational teams to ensure projects are delivered effectively.

  • Supporting the development and performance of the wider operational team.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Site Manager / Senior Site Manager with a strong background in social housing planned maintenance or refurbishment.

You'll ideally have:

  • Proven experience delivering planned works within social housing.

  • Experience across one or more of external refurbishment, kitchens & bathrooms and windows.

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive teams and programmes.

  • Experience managing Supervisors, subcontractors and multiple workstreams.

  • Strong client-facing, reporting and organisational skills.

  • A proactive approach with the ability to identify problems and drive solutions.

  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and quality requirements.

  • SMSTS and relevant CSCS.

  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Clear Progression into Contracts Management

This role offers a genuine progression route into Contracts Management.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish themselves as a key member of the operational team, take ownership of the programmes and work closely with the Operations Manager, with the aim of progressing into a Contracts Manager position within 12 months, subject to performance.
