Senior Site Manager in Norwich, Norfolk

Posted by Fawkes & Reece London

I'm currently working with a leading Tier 1 Principal Contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Site Manager to join their team on a major £50m redevelopment scheme in Norwich.

This is a significant project and an excellent opportunity for a Senior Site Manager who enjoys working on complex, high-value builds and wants to play a key role in delivering a major scheme from the ground up.

Reporting directly into the Project Manager, you'll act as the number two on site, taking significant responsibility for the day-to-day delivery and operational performance of the project.

We're looking for someone with strong all-round principal contractor build experience who is comfortable operating across the full construction process and managing large teams, subcontractors and multiple workstreams.

The role

  • Act as number two to the Project Manager, supporting the overall delivery of the £50m scheme
  • Take ownership of day-to-day site operations and construction delivery
  • Lead and manage Site Managers, engineers, subcontractors and supply chain partners
  • Drive programme, quality, health & safety and productivity across the project
  • Coordinate multiple construction packages and ensure works are delivered to programme
  • Work closely with the Project Manager, commercial team, design team and client
  • Manage site logistics, sequencing and interfaces across a complex redevelopment
  • Identify and resolve issues proactively, keeping the project moving

What we're looking for

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Senior Site Manager / No.2 Site Manager with a strong track record working for a principal contractor, ideally within a Tier 1 environment.

You'll need:

  • Strong all-round construction/build experience
  • Experience working on large-scale projects, ideally £30m+
  • Proven ability to lead sizeable site teams and subcontractor packages
  • Strong programme and sequencing knowledge
  • Excellent understanding of construction methodology and buildability
  • The credibility and experience to operate as the Project Manager's right hand

Tier 1 experience is highly desirable, but the key requirement is someone who has genuinely led complex construction delivery and can operate effectively at Senior Site Manager level on a £50m scheme.

You'll be joining a Tier 1 contractor with a strong pipeline of work, offering long-term security and the opportunity to work on further major projects following this scheme.

For the right person, this represents an excellent opportunity to step into a high-profile £50m project, work closely with an experienced Project Manager and take a significant leadership role in the delivery of a major redevelopment.
