About this Role:

We're looking for a strong Senior Site Manager to work as the No.2 alongside the Project Manager on this £12m new build commercial / industrial development in Newbury, Berkshire.

The project comprises three new build steel-framed buildings, each with a full internal end-user fit out. Every building has a distinct purpose, including automotive, commercial, and medical research and training facilities.

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring the safe and successful delivery of the project. Your duties will include short-term programming, maintaining health and safety standards, reviewing method statements and risk assessments, coordinating site logistics, quality control, implementing inspection and test plans, client liaison, chairing coordination meetings, monitoring progress against programme, resolving site issues, and overseeing snagging through to handover.

Construction is already underway, with the steel frame due to commence next month. There is also a strong pipeline of repeat work in the local area with this key client, offering excellent continuity beyond this project.

Requirements, Qualifications and Experience:

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and proactive, demonstrating excellent technical, organisational, man-management and communication skills. A proven track record of 5-10 years working for a main contractor would be advantageous.

You'll ideally come from a construction management, engineering or trades background and be educated to degree level or equivalent NVQ standard, with a sharp eye for detail and quality throughout. You will be forward-thinking and resourceful, possessing the ability to plan ahead, identify and resolve issues, work well within a team, see the bigger picture, and maintain a positive, 'get it right first time' approach.

You will possess SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications for this role.
