Senior Backend Software Engineer – Global FinTech | London | Fully Remote

Our client, a global FinTech headquartered in London, is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join their high‑impact engineering team. You’ll work with cutting‑edge technologies including Python, SQL, ETL/ELT, FastAPI, and AI/LLMs, helping to build a mission‑critical Data Migration Platform used to onboard financial agencies at scale.

This platform connects to legacy CRMs, extracts and validates complex datasets, handles exceptions intelligently, and imports data safely into the core FinTech ecosystem.

What You’ll Work On

• Backend Engineering using Python to build scalable, production‑grade services

• Data Migration — extract, validate, map, dedupe and safely import large datasets

• API Integrations with legacy CRMs and third‑party systems

• ETL/ELT Pipelines powering high‑volume data workflows

• FastAPI/Django/Flask for modern backend development

• AI/LLM Tools to accelerate coding and workflow automation

• Containerised Development using Linux, Docker and modern DevOps practices

Key Skills:- 

• Strong Python backend engineering experience

• Strong SQL and database fundamentals

• Experience with ETL/ELT, data migration or system integrations

• Production experience with FastAPI (plus Django/Flask)

• Understanding of data modelling, validation, deduplication and safe import patterns

• Knowledge of transactions, consistency and production data workflows

• Experience with Linux, Docker and containerised environments

• Practical experience using AI coding tools or LLM APIs

• Clear communication and ability to work with non‑technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Experience with CRM systems, FinTech, payments or operations platforms

• Building internal tools for operations or migration workflows

• Observability, logging, monitoring, CI/CD

• Additional languages: Java, C#, C++, Kotlin, Scala

• Experience applying LLMs in production
