A well-established engineering consultancy who regularly work on interesting and prestigious projects in the west Scotland seek a Senior Structural Design Engineer to join their team. Specialising in building structures they cover a broad spectrum of sectors and have a proven capability in working on bespoke, technically challenging developments. 

With vibrant offices near the city centre, they are looking to bring an experience Engineer to aid the delivery of projects and offer valuable mentorship to graduates.

You will take responsibility for projects from concept through to completion, leading on client relationships and stakeholder engagement.


Detailed responsibilities include;

  • Develop structural scheme designs and detailed solutions for building projects (commercial, residential, mixed-use).

  • Carry out design and analysis of structural elements and frames in concrete, steel, masonry and timber to current Eurocodes/British Standards.

  • Liaise with architects, contractors and clients to agree safe, buildable and cost-effective solutions.
  • Attend site meetings and inspections as required; support construction-phase queries and problem-solving.

  • Apply a pragmatic approach to design, considering site constraints, buildability, programme and sustainability.


To apply you should hold a degree in Structural Engineering (or equivalent) and have a minimum of 5 years’ post-grad experience in a consultancy environment (focused on building structures). You should also be working towards or hold chartered status.
