Luna Recruitment is working with an established and highly regarded children's residential care provider to recruit an experienced Senior Support Worker / Team Leader to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong experience in children's residential care who is ready to take the next step in their career and play an important role in supporting young people and the wider staff team.
The Role
As a Senior Support Worker / Team Leader, you will support the management team in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring young people receive high-quality care, support and guidance in a safe and nurturing environment.
You will also provide leadership and guidance to Support Workers, helping to maintain consistently high standards of care and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day operation of the children's home
- Lead and support a team of Residential Support Workers
- Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people
- Promote positive relationships and help young people develop independence and life skills
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments and records are maintained to a high standard
- Take responsibility for the home during shifts in the absence of senior management
- Support staff with safeguarding and behavioural management
- Ensure policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements are followed
- Contribute to a positive, supportive and child-centred environment
- Work in line with Ofsted regulations and children's residential care standards
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working in a children's residential setting
- Has previous experience as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader or similar
- Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and children's residential care
- Is confident supporting and leading a team
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Is resilient, reliable and able to remain calm in challenging situations
- Is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people
- Understands the importance of Ofsted compliance and high standards of care
An NVQ/QCF Level 3 qualification in Children's Residential Care or equivalent is desirable.
