Rotherwood Cares is recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior / Team Leader to join a brand-new children's residential service in Nelson.

The Role
As a Senior / Team Leader, you will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, providing leadership to the care team and ensuring young people receive the highest standard of support.
You will play a vital role in promoting positive outcomes, supporting emotional wellbeing and helping young people develop independence, confidence and life skills.

Shift Pattern
The home operates a 5-week rolling rota, including:
- Two 14-hour shifts
- Three rostered days off
- Day shifts, night shifts, weekends and sleep-ins
- Overtime opportunities available
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and support the smooth running of the home.
- Provide high-quality, therapeutic and person-centred care.
- Act as a Key Worker for young people and contribute to care planning.
- Support emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour strategies.
- Encourage independence, education and personal development.
- Support medication administration following appropriate training.
- Complete accurate records, reports and daily documentation.
- Mentor and support Residential Support Workers.
- Maintain safeguarding, health & safety and regulatory standards.
- Build positive relationships with young people, families and professionals.
About You
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working within a Children's Residential Home.
- Minimum 1 yearβs experience in children's residential care.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.
- Flexible approach to working shifts, weekends and sleep-ins.
Desirable:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards).
- Experience leading shifts or supervising a care team.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted expectations and therapeutic approaches.
