Rotherwood Cares is recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior / Team Leader to join a brand-new children's residential service in Nelson.

The Role

As a Senior / Team Leader, you will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home, providing leadership to the care team and ensuring young people receive the highest standard of support.

You will play a vital role in promoting positive outcomes, supporting emotional wellbeing and helping young people develop independence, confidence and life skills.

Shift Pattern

The home operates a 5-week rolling rota, including:

• Two 14-hour shifts
• Three rostered days off
• Day shifts, night shifts, weekends and sleep-ins
• Overtime opportunities available

Key Responsibilities

• Lead shifts and support the smooth running of the home.
• Provide high-quality, therapeutic and person-centred care.
• Act as a Key Worker for young people and contribute to care planning.
• Support emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour strategies.
• Encourage independence, education and personal development.
• Support medication administration following appropriate training.
• Complete accurate records, reports and daily documentation.
• Mentor and support Residential Support Workers.
• Maintain safeguarding, health & safety and regulatory standards.
• Build positive relationships with young people, families and professionals.

About You

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience working within a Children's Residential Home.
• Minimum 1 year’s experience in children's residential care.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Experience supporting young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.
• Flexible approach to working shifts, weekends and sleep-ins.

Desirable:

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or working towards).
• Experience leading shifts or supervising a care team.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted expectations and therapeutic approaches.
