Carrington West are pleased to be working with a well-established private consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality projects across the UK. Combining expertise in Planning, Landscape Architecture, and Civil Engineering, they provide integrated solutions for residential, commercial, mixed-use, energy, and infrastructure developments.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Town Planner to join their expanding planning team. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while playing a key role in shaping successful developments from inception through to delivery.
The Role
As a Senior Town Planner, you will manage your own projects while supporting senior colleagues on larger schemes. You'll work collaboratively with planners, landscape architects, engineers, and external stakeholders to deliver commercially focused planning advice and successful planning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
·Managing a diverse portfolio of planning projects across multiple sectors.
·Preparing and submitting planning applications, appeals, and supporting documentation.
·Producing Planning Statements, site appraisals, and development strategies.
·Advising clients on planning policy, development potential, and planning risk.
·Liaising with local planning authorities, statutory consultees, and key stakeholders.
·Managing client relationships and acting as a trusted planning advisor.
·Supporting junior members of the planning team through mentoring and technical guidance.
·Contributing to business development and helping secure new opportunities.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
·MRTPI qualified (or working towards Chartership with significant relevant experience).
·A degree (or postgraduate qualification) in Town Planning or a related discipline.
·Several years' experience within a private planning consultancy or multidisciplinary environment.
·Strong knowledge of the UK planning system and current planning legislation.
·Experience managing planning applications from initial feasibility through to determination.
·Excellent report writing and communication skills.
·Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
·A commercial mindset and a proactive approach to client service.
