Our client is an established and well-regarded independent planning consultancy with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality planning advice across the residential, commercial, rural, and mixed-use sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an ambitious Senior Town Planner to join their Banbury office.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded planner who enjoys managing projects, building client relationships, and contributing to the ongoing success of a growing consultancy.



The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you'll be responsible for managing a varied portfolio of planning projects from inception through to completion. You'll provide expert planning advice to clients, prepare and submit planning applications and appeals, liaise with local authorities and stakeholders, and play an important role in developing new business opportunities.

Working closely with experienced colleagues, you'll have the opportunity to mentor junior team members while continuing to develop your own career within a business that genuinely invests in its people.



Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a diverse range of planning applications and appeals.
  • Providing clear and commercially focused planning advice to clients.
  • Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation.
  • Liaising with local planning authorities, consultees, and stakeholders.
  • Attending client meetings, site visits, and planning committee meetings where required.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Supporting business development activities and networking opportunities.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior planners within the team.


About You

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • MRTPI qualified (or working towards chartership with significant relevant experience).
  • Previous experience within a planning consultancy or local authority.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to client management.
  • Full UK driving licence.
