An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Town Planner to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy in their successful and progressive Bristol planning team.

The consultancy works at the forefront of sustainable infrastructure and development, supporting clients across a diverse range of major projects. The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will take an active role in delivering a varied portfolio of planning and development projects, working alongside colleagues across environmental, engineering, design and other technical disciplines.

You will have the opportunity to act as a Planning Lead or Planning Support Lead, contribute to major multidisciplinary projects and take responsibility for project management and delivery.

The role will also provide exposure to strategic planning, consenting and development management, with projects potentially involving applications under the Town and Country Planning Act, Development Consent Orders (DCOs) and Transport and Works Act Orders (TWAOs).



The Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
  • Chartered or working towards MRTPI.
  • Previous experience within a planning consultancy or similar professional environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the UK planning system.
  • Experience in strategic planning, planning policy and/or development management.
  • Experience working on major development or infrastructure projects would be advantageous.
  • Understanding of TCPA, DCO, TWAO or equivalent consenting processes would be highly beneficial.
  • Knowledge of the Environmental Impact Assessment process would be advantageous.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Confident working with clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Commercially aware, proactive and keen to contribute to business development and work-winning opportunities.
