We are seeking a Senior Traffic Order Specialist to join an established and growing Parking and Kerbside team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner to use their technical expertise to deliver a wide range of traffic regulation orders and parking projects for clients across the UK.
Working closely with senior consultants, technical directors, and project teams, you will provide specialist advice, lead the preparation of robust traffic orders, support project delivery, and play an important role in mentoring and developing junior colleagues.

As a Senior Traffic Order Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and delivering traffic order projects from inception through to completion. You will act as a technical lead, providing expert guidance on complex traffic order matters while ensuring projects are delivered to a high standard, within agreed timescales and budgets.
Your responsibilities will include:
·Providing specialist technical advice and guidance to clients and colleagues on complex traffic order, parking, and traffic management matters.
·Drafting high-quality Traffic Regulation Orders (TROs) and associated documentation for a variety of schemes and clients across the UK.
·Reviewing and quality-checking traffic orders, reports, drawings, and technical outputs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
·Managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring successful delivery against programme, budget, and quality requirements.
·Supporting the preparation of bids, proposals, technical responses, and cost estimates for new opportunities.
·Working closely with senior team members to manage workload, resources, and project pipelines.
·Acting as a key point of contact for clients, providing updates, responding to queries, and ensuring expectations are met.
·Supporting and mentoring junior team members, including providing guidance, training, and technical development.
·Delivering training and advice to clients on traffic order processes, legislation, and best practice where required.
·Managing project administration, including budgets, invoicing, work in progress, and financial reporting.
·Maintaining accurate project records and ensuring compliance with quality assurance procedures.
·Keeping up to date with changes in legislation, industry standards, and best practice.
·Building strong working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partner organisations.
·Contributing to the continued growth and development of the Parking and Kerbside team.
About you
We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced Traffic Order specialist who can confidently manage complex projects, provide technical leadership, and support clients with expert advice.
You will ideally have:
·Significant experience preparing and delivering Traffic Regulation Orders, ideally within a consultancy or local authority environment.
·Strong knowledge and practical understanding of traffic and parking legislation.
·Experience working with local authority clients, including experience delivering schemes within London or other complex urban environments.
·A strong understanding of parking engineering, traffic management, highway legislation, and transportation principles.
·Experience managing projects from initial brief through to successful completion.
·The ability to review technical work and ensure high-quality outputs.
·Experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues.
·Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
·Good commercial awareness, including experience managing budgets and project finances.
·Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and stakeholders.
·Strong IT skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and spreadsheets.
·Experience using CAD software would be advantageous.
·A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience, with evidence of continued professional development.
