Salary: £44,000 – £50,000 + £6000 Regional allowance

About the Job

As a Senior Trainer/Assessor – Bricklaying, you will deliver and assess apprenticeship programmes while supporting apprentices throughout their learning journey from induction through to successful End Point Assessment (EPA).

You will work closely with employers, apprentices, and internal teams to ensure training delivery meets industry requirements, apprenticeship standards, and quality expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging apprenticeship training and assessment within Bricklaying and Construction programmes
  • Manage and support apprentices throughout their learning journey
  • Prepare learners for Gateway and End Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Conduct progress reviews with apprentices and employers
  • Build strong relationships with employers and industry stakeholders
  • Ensure delivery aligns with Ofsted, ESFA, safeguarding, and quality requirements
  • Adapt delivery to meet individual learner needs, including SEND requirements
  • Support curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Promote apprenticeship opportunities and wider training services
  • Contribute to quality assurance activities and performance reporting
  • Ensure learning materials remain current with industry standards and legislation

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an experienced Bricklaying Trainer, Bricklaying Assessor, Construction Tutor, Apprenticeship Coach, or Construction Professional with a strong understanding of apprenticeship delivery and the housebuilding sector.

You will have:

  • Occupational experience within Bricklaying and Construction
  • Experience working within the housebuilding or new-build housing sector
  • Experience delivering apprenticeships, training, or assessment programmes
  • Trade qualification in Bricklaying (minimum Level 2)
  • English and Maths qualifications aligned to apprenticeship requirements
  • Strong knowledge of apprenticeship standards and learner progression
  • Experience supporting learners towards End Point Assessment (EPA)
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Ability to build strong employer relationships
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, Prevent, and learner welfare responsibilities
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • Teaching qualification or working towards one
  • Assessor qualification such as TAQA, CAVA, A1, D32/D33, or equivalent
  • Level 3 Bricklaying qualification
  • Knowledge of housebuilding regulations, construction standards, and industry best practice
  • Experience working within Ofsted and ESFA-funded apprenticeship provision
  • Membership of a professional construction body such as CIOB, CABE, RICS, IOSH, or similar
