Senior Transformation Officer

📍 Location: Birmingham - Hybrid Work Pattern

💰 Rate: £400-£450 per day (Umbrella Inside IR35)

📅 6-Month Contract

The Role

We are seeking a highly capable Senior Transformation Officer to join a dynamic public sector organisation, supporting a diverse transformation portfolio across multiple programmes. This is a strategic and hands-on role suited to someone who goes beyond reporting and is focused on driving outcomes and delivering real change.You will operate within a PMO and programme environment, working closely with programme leads to ensure delivery, challenge assumptions, and provide meaningful insight into benefits and risk realisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a Transformation/PMO lead across multiple programmes within a wider portfolio
• Oversee and consolidate programme reporting (not just "report pushing" - but adding value and insight)
• Track programme delivery using tools such as MS Planner and Gantt charts
• Support benefits realisation and risk management, ensuring programmes deliver measurable outcomes.
• Provide strategic recommendations to improve delivery and performance
• Drive process improvement and innovation, identifying opportunities to do things better
• Work across internal and external change initiatives, understanding key differences and impacts
• Collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and engagement
• Take ownership and follow up on programme actions, ensuring progress and accountability.

About You

• Strong PMO / Transformation background within complex environments
• Experience in the public sector is highly desirable.
• Proven ability to work across multiple programmes and portfolios simultaneously
• Deep understanding of benefits realisation, risk, and governance
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights
• Confident in making recommendations and influencing decision-making
• A proactive, delivery-focused mindset - someone who gets things done and drives outcomes.
• Experience with MS Planner, Gantt charts, and reporting tools
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Strong personality fit - collaborative, adaptable, and able to work in a diverse team
