September SEND Teaching Assistants
Teaching Personnel
September might feel a little way off, but specialist schools across East Sussex are already beginning to identify the support staff they want in place for the start of the new academic year.
I'm currently working with a number of SEND and SEMH schools who are looking to secure strong Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants ahead of September, giving both schools and candidates the opportunity to find the right fit before the start of term.
Whether you're already working in SEND, looking to transition into specialist education, or simply exploring what opportunities might be available, now is a great time to start those conversations.
Opportunities May Include- SEND Teaching Assistant roles
- Learning Support Assistant positions
- SEMH support roles
- 1:1 pupil support
- Behaviour and engagement support
- Classroom and intervention support
- Long-term and permanent opportunities
Across both primary and secondary specialist settings.
What Schools Are Looking ForThe schools I work with consistently tell me they're looking for people who:
- Build strong relationships with young people
- Remain calm and professional under pressure
- Bring consistency and reliability into the classroom
- Work collaboratively with teachers and wider teams
- Have a genuine desire to support pupils who may need additional help to succeed
Experience within SEND is welcomed, but it isn't always essential.
Many successful Teaching Assistants come from backgrounds such as education, care, youth work, coaching, mentoring and support work. Schools are often just as interested in your attitude, resilience and willingness to learn as they are your previous experience.
Why Apply Before September? The strongest September opportunities are often identified and filled before the summer holidays.
Registering early gives you:
- Access to a wider range of opportunities
- More visibility of long-term and permanent vacancies
- Time to complete compliance and vetting comfortably
- Greater choice when it comes to finding the right setting
- September 2026 opportunities available
- Roles across East Sussex
- Teaching Assistant / LSA roles paid at £92.60 per day
- Full-time and long-term opportunities available
