We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Service Advisor position at their well-established independent garage in Eastbourne, East Sussex.   • Competitive basic salary of £30,000 to £35,000 per annum, with an OTE of £35,000

Duties of a Service Advisor:
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers, delivering excellent customer service
  • Upsell additional services and motoring solutions during customer interactions
  • Communicate honestly and empathetically, particularly when conveying bad news
  • Liaise with workshop staff, including technicians and service team members, to provide timely vehicle updates
  • Manage customer bookings, scheduling, and workshop organisation
  • Maintain accurate workshop management systems and documentation
  • Uphold transparency and a proactive approach in a busy environment
  • Support workshop colleagues and contribute to a positive team atmosphere
Requirements of a Service Advisor:
  • Proven experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar role within the motor trade
  • Good knowledge of automotive servicing procedures and customer expectations
  • Ability to upsell and proactively suggest additional services
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, empathetic and confident in dealing with customers
  • Well organised, with the capability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Experience with workshop management systems (e.g., TechMan) is preferred but not essential
  • Professional attitude and proactive approach to customer care
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a close-knit team
