The Role

As a Heavy Goods Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out inspection, maintenance, servicing, and repair work on a range of heavy-duty machinery and equipment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring equipment remains safe, compliant, and operational.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical faults.
• Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
• Complete all relevant service documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure work is completed in line with health & safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
• Work collaboratively with workshop and operational teams to minimise downtime.
• Participate in breakdown support and field service activities where required.
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship and customer service.

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Heavy Goods Engineer, Plant Fitter, Mechanical Engineer, Service Engineer, or in a similar engineering role.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working on heavy-duty machinery, industrial equipment, plant machinery, or related engineering products.
• Relevant engineering qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, Apprenticeship or equivalent) are desirable.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and customer service.
