Setting Out Engineer / Engineering Surveyor at Da Vinci Engineering, Park Royal

Da Vinci Engineering Ltd is a growing surveying and site engineering company based in West London (NW10), working with contractors, developers, architects and consultants across London.

We are looking for an experienced Setting Out Engineer / Engineering Surveyor to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.

The Role

The primary focus of the position is setting out and site engineering. The successful candidate must be confident working independently on construction sites using Leica surveying equipment.

Depending on project requirements, you may be based on one project for an extended period or work across different sites throughout London.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out independently on construction projects
• Establish, check and maintain site control, benchmarks, coordinates and levels
• Set out grids, steel frames, piles, foundations, ground beams, walls, columns, drainage, services and external works
• Prepare and check setting-out coordinates from AutoCAD drawings
• Read and interpret architectural, structural and civil engineering drawings
• Operate Leica robotic total stations confidently and independently
• Carry out level checks, as-built surveys and produce accurate survey records
• Identify and report discrepancies between drawings, control information and site conditions
• Liaise professionally with Site Managers, Project Managers, engineers and consultants
• Support topographical surveys, structural monitoring, measured building surveys and 3D laser scanning when required

Essential Requirements

• Previous UK experience as a Setting Out Engineer, Site Engineer or Engineering Surveyor
• Proven ability to carry out setting out independently
• Strong practical experience with Leica robotic total stations
• Good AutoCAD skills, including preparing and checking setting-out coordinates
• Good understanding of survey control, coordinate systems, datums and levels
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and carry out as-built/site checks
• Valid CSCS card
• Full UK driving licence
• Right to work in the UK

Desirable

Experience with Leica GNSS/GPS and Leica Captivate, topographical surveying, 3D laser scanning or structural monitoring would be advantageous. A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Surveying, Construction or a related discipline is also desirable.
