Setting Out Engineer

Linsco is recruiting on behalf of a leading contractor delivering residential, commercial, educational, and infrastructure projects across Birmingham and the surrounding areas. As a Setting Out Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out accurate setting out and surveying activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and to specification.

• Read and interpret construction drawings.
• Carry out setting out and surveying activities, providing accurate lines and levels.
• Monitor site progress against programme deadlines.
• Coordinate with site teams and subcontractors to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Maintain site records, ITPs, and as-built drawings.
• Ensure compliance with SHEQ standards and company procedures.
• Build strong working relationships across site teams.
• Support junior engineers and site personnel where required.

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or similar.
• Previous experience in a Setting Out Engineer or Site Engineer role, ideally within residential construction.
• Commercial construction experience advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of surveying equipment and setting out procedures.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Full UK driving licence and valid CSCS card.
• Self-motivated with excellent organisational and communication skills.
