Role Summary

DX is looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Claims Coordinator to manage employers’ liability and industrial injury claims across our nationwide network.

You will act as the central point of contact for depots, insurers, legal representatives, claims management providers and internal stakeholders. You will help keep claims on track, obtain evidence promptly, maintain accurate records, and support effective defence strategies through clear analysis and reporting.

This role would suit someone with experience in claims administration, insurance, legal support, risk management, health and safety administration, or a similar environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Receiving, reviewing and recording employers’ liability and industrial injury claims.
  • Managing claims from initial notification through to closure.
  • Monitoring case progress, key milestones and legal deadlines.
  • Coordinating the collection of accident investigations, risk assessments, training records, witness statements, CCTV footage and other supporting evidence.
  • Identifying gaps in evidence and following up with depots and business functions.
  • Liaising with managers across more than 100 depots, as well as insurers, solicitors and claims management providers.
  • Reviewing evidence and external recommendations to prepare case summaries and defence strategy proposals.
  • Producing claims reports, management information and trend analysis.
  • Identifying recurring causes, emerging risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Providing day-to-day supervision to the SHE Administrator on claims-related activities

Essential criteria for this role

  • Relevant experience in claims administration, insurance, legal support, risk management, health and safety administration, or a comparable role.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
  • Confident communication and relationship-building skills.
  • An analytical approach, with the ability to assess evidence and make recommendations.
  • Experience producing reports and management information.
  • The ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality and take ownership of your workload.
  • Competence in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions and data analysis tools.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Teams and Word.
  • Experience of employers’ liability or personal injury claims, logistics or distribution operations, supervision, or UK health and safety legislation would be advantageous.

You will be methodical, persistent and comfortable following up for information. You will communicate professionally, handle sensitive matters appropriately, and take a practical, commercially aware approach to resolving issues.

Occasional calls outside normal office hours may be required to support colleagues working varied shift patterns.

As this role handles sensitive data that is in scope of GDPR laws, you will be required to undergo a CRB check.
