Our client is a well-established engineering organisation operating within the energy and infrastructure sector, delivering specialist solutions across the UK.
The Role
Reporting to the Senior SHE Manager, the SHE Manager will play a key role in promoting and maintaining a positive Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) culture across projects throughout Scotland.
Working across civil construction and M&E disciplines, you will provide specialist SHE advice to site teams, managers, employees and subcontractors, ensuring projects comply with legislation, company standards and relevant ISO requirements.
The business is also open to experienced SHE Advisors looking to take the next step in their career and move into a SHE Manager position.
Please note: regular travel across Scotland is an essential requirement of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist SHE advice to operational teams, managers, employees and subcontractors.
- Develop, implement and maintain SHE standards across projects where the business operates as Principal Contractor or contractor.
- Ensure compliance with current health & safety legislation, company policies and procedures.
- Support accident and incident investigations, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Promote lessons learned and continuous improvement across the wider business.
- Maintain compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Provide guidance on areas including fire safety, hazardous substances, work at height, noise, HAVS and occupational health.
About You
We're interested in hearing from both established SHE Managers and experienced SHE Advisors ready to take the next step.
You'll ideally have:
- Tech IOSH status or be working towards it.
- NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate.
- Relevant SHE experience within a substation, HV/LV, energy or electrical engineering environment.
- Experience working with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Strong knowledge of current SHE legislation and regulatory requirements.
- A good understanding of civil, mechanical and electrical engineering principles.
- The flexibility and willingness to travel regularly across Scotland and occasionally elsewhere in the UK.
