Sheet Metal Worker

Sheet Metal Worker (SMW) / Workshop Technician is required for a permanent role at an Aircraft Maintenance facility at Bournemouth Airport.

This is a permanent role with a salary of up to £39,000 per annum, plus benefits such as a generous company pension scheme.

The role is to fabricate Precision Sheet Metal components, using SMW bending and fitting techniques.

And Assemble Aircraft components in line with drawings / specifications, using various assembly methods including riveting and bolting.

Plus completing documentation as required, recording the work carried out.

Candidates must have previous sheet metal fabrication and precision mechanical fitting experience – essential.

And must be able to reading engineering drawings, and use manual inspection equipment such as verniers and micrometers – essential.

Ideally candidates will have an Engineering Apprenticeship, or HM Forces equivalent, or a formal Mechanical Engineering qualification such as BTEC Level 3 – desirable.

Previous experience as an Aircraft Maintenance Technician is desirable, but not essential.
