Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator

Location: Halifax
Salary: £17.00 - £19.00 per hour DOE (Approx. £39,000 per annum)
Hours: Monday to Friday | 37 Hours Per Week | Days (7:30am - 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, Early Finish Friday)



The Company

Our client is a well-established engineering and manufacturing business specialising in the design and manufacture of bespoke material handling and conveyor equipment. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a skilled Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator to join their expanding workshop team.

The Role

As a Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator, you will be responsible for manufacturing high-quality fabricated components from engineering drawings. You'll work with a range of sheet metal products, carrying out TIG welding, fabrication, grinding and assembly to produce bespoke equipment to a high standard.

This is a hands-on workshop-based role suited to someone who enjoys varied fabrication work and takes pride in producing quality workmanship.



Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble bespoke sheet metal components
  • Carry out high-quality TIG welding
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
  • Use hand tools, power tools and fabrication equipment safely
  • Grind, finish and prepare fabricated components
  • Carry out accurate measuring, marking out and cutting
  • Ensure work is completed to the highest quality standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Work closely with the wider production team to meet delivery deadlines


About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a Sheet Metal Worker, Fabricator or Welder
  • Strong TIG welding experience (essential)
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good fabrication and sheet metal skills
  • Experience using fabrication machinery and hand tools
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment
  • A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a growing business
