Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Salary: Up to £32,000 + ~£65 per night shift allowance
Hours: Rotating shifts - 2 weeks 09:00-18:00, 2 weeks 00:00-09:00

We are recruiting for a Shift Chemist to join a well-established waste management and processing operation based in Stoke-on-Trent.

Working within a busy and hands-on environment, this role offers a mix of laboratory analysis and site-based activity, supporting the safe handling, assessment, and processing of chemical materials.

The Role:

  • Sampling, testing, and analysing a variety of chemical materials

  • Checking incoming loads against documentation and ensuring accurate classification

  • Supporting the safe storage, segregation, and processing of materials on site

  • Carrying out laboratory analysis using a range of testing methods and equipment

  • Monitoring outputs and ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards

  • Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems

  • Supporting site operations, including coordination with drivers and operational staff

What We're Looking For:

  • HNC/HND in Chemistry or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)

  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach

  • Comfortable working in both laboratory and outdoor environments

  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

  • A proactive and reliable attitude

Desirable:

  • Degree in a science-based subject

  • Experience working with chemicals or hazardous materials

  • Full UK driving licence
