We're looking for a proactive and skilled Shift Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing operation. The Role As a Shift Engineer, you'll be responsible for carrying out both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across a range of production machinery and site utilities. Working closely with production teams and engineering colleagues, you'll help minimise downtime, improve equipment reliability, and ensure operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on production equipment and utilities.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults efficiently.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and increase equipment performance.
  • Conduct routine machinery inspections, servicing, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe working environment and promote best practice in health and safety.
  • Support risk assessments, safe systems of work, permits to work, and compliance activities.
  • Participate in audits and help implement corrective actions where required.
  • Contribute to training and knowledge sharing within engineering and production teams.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and safety records.
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial engineering environment.
  • Strong fault-finding skills across mechanical and/or electrical systems.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements within an engineering setting.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to provide shift cover and respond to major breakdowns when required.
