Location: City of London
Salary: £57,000 – £59,000 + £1,500 AP Bonus
Shift Pattern: Continental Shift (7am-7pm / 7pm-7am – Days & Nights)

Shift Leader | Prestigious Commercial Building | City of London

We are seeking an experienced Shift Leader to join a leading facilities management team at a prestigious commercial building in the City of London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong electrical or mechanically qualified engineer looking to step into, or continue in, a leadership role within a critical commercial environment. You'll lead a team of engineers while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all building services systems.

The Role

As Shift Leader, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the engineering shift team, ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting a team of Shift Engineers
• Coordinating planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
• Operating and maintaining critical electrical and mechanical plant
• Acting as the first point of contact for engineering issues and site incidents
• Ensuring statutory compliance and health & safety procedures are followed
• Issuing and controlling Permit to Work systems
• Liaising with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders
• Producing shift reports and maintaining accurate maintenance records
• Supporting specialist contractors and overseeing planned works
• Driving high standards of service delivery and continuous improvement

About You

We're looking for an experienced Building Services Engineer with previous supervisory or Shift Leader experience in a commercial or critical environment.

You will ideally have:

• Experience leading engineering teams within commercial building maintenance
• Electrical or Mechanical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of building services plant, including HVAC, electrical distribution, pumps, generators, UPS, AHUs and FCUs
• Previous experience operating Permit to Work systems
• Authorised Person (AP) status or willingness to achieve AP accreditation
• Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• A proactive approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
