Shift Maintenance Technician

Telford | 4 on 4 off (Days & Nights) | Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a Shift Maintenance Technician to join a busy manufacturing operation in Telford, working a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern covering both days and nights.

This is a hands-on maintenance position where you will play a key role in keeping site and production equipment running efficiently, minimising downtime and delivering sustainable repairs and improvements.



The Role

Working as part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of manufacturing equipment, including:

  • Conveyors
  • Injection Moulding
  • Extruders
  • Mixers
  • Coolers
  • Laminators
  • Cutting Lines

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to minimise production downtime.
  • Diagnosing faults and completing effective repairs across site and plant equipment.
  • Carrying out Root Cause Analysis, including 5 Why, to identify and eliminate recurring issues.
  • Implementing sustainable corrective actions and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Accurately recording maintenance activities through the CMMS system.
  • Maintaining and updating relevant technical documentation and procedures.
  • Proactively highlighting engineering and process concerns.
  • Supporting continuous improvement across the site.
  • Working closely with the wider maintenance team and transferring knowledge and skills to apprentices and colleagues.
  • Completing agreed training and development to further enhance your technical skillset.


About You

The successful candidate will have a strong electrical maintenance background, ideally gained within a manufacturing or production environment.

Essential requirements include:

  • Time-served apprenticeship to Level 3 standard, or equivalent, in Electrical Maintenance/Engineering.
  • Current Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
  • Strong electrical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good level of numeracy and literacy.
  • Comfortable using PCs, mobile devices and maintenance systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
