Due to an increase in upcoming projects, there is now a need for a Shift Mechanical Engineer to join this highly successful and forward-thinking organisation.

We are looking for a Shift Mechanical Engineer who wants to work in a diverse role where no two days are the same.

As the Shift Mechanical Engineer, you will provide the delivery of both planned and reactive FM maintenance services.

The Shift Mechanical Engineer, will be responsible for:

  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and complete all required paperwork.
  • Respond to reactive and emergency breakdowns, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Assist other team members as directed by the Supervisor or Contract Manager.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed within contractual time scales.
  • Proactively support energy‑reduction initiatives on site.
  • Supervise visiting sub‑contractors, ensuring high standards and Health & Safety compliance.
  • Adopt a flexible attitude to support additional properties when required.
  • Complete all documentation accurately and on time.
  • Work safely, diligently, and in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Participate fully in training and appraisal activities.
  • Undertake additional duties in line with capability as required.

To be successful for this Shift Mechanical Engineer role you must have:

  • City & Guilds Level II/III (or equivalent) in relevant mechanical disciplines.
  • Experience in maintenance, testing, and fault‑finding on a range of equipment including boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, batteries, and lighting systems.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
  • Proactive approach with strong customer‑care focus.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to diagnose, anticipate, and repair faults.
  • Capable of completing essential paperwork accurately and promptly.
