Shift Team Leader in Brandon, Suffolk

We are recruiting for a Shift Team Leader to join a busy manufacturing operation in Brandon.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for managing the team, maintaining production levels and ensuring high standards of safety, quality and performance throughout the shift.

Hours: Monday to Friday 2:00pm – 10:00pm
Pay Rate £15-£18 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• Allocate workloads and ensure production targets are achieved.
• Monitor productivity, quality, downtime and waste.
• Provide leadership, coaching and support to team members.
• Assist with training and development of employees.
• Ensure company health & safety procedures and PPE requirements are followed.
• Monitor production machinery and equipment to ensure efficient operation.
• Carry out basic fault finding and escalate technical issues when required.
• Ensure the correct materials and feedstocks are being used.
• Monitor product quality and identify any issues outside specification.
• Complete shift reports, production records and handover information.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and GMP.
• Report accidents, equipment faults and damage promptly.
• Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.
• Provide hands-on support to the production team when required.

Essential Experience & Skills

• Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor or similar production role.
• Experience within continuous production operations.
• Previous experience within a recycling or plastics environment.
• Ability to lead and support a team in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
• Good understanding of health & safety procedures.
• Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
• Ability to monitor production performance and work towards agreed targets.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications

• Experience of plastics film recycling.
• Knowledge of plastics film extrusion, processing or converting.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing / 5S principles.
• Experience operating or working around extruders, granulators, cutter compactors or ancillary production equipment.
• FLT qualification.
• First Aid or Fire Warden training.
• IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
