Frontline Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced and reliable Shunter Driver to join their team based in Bulwell, Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional driver with experience in shunting operations to work within a busy, fast-paced environment, moving trailers and vehicles safely and efficiently while supporting the smooth running of site operations.

THE ROLE

• Safely moving and positioning trailers and vehicles around the site.

• Carrying out shunting duties to ensure trailers are positioned correctly for loading and unloading.

• Moving trailers between designated parking bays, loading docks, and other site locations.

• Working closely with warehouse staff, transport planners, and colleagues to support daily operations.

• Completing vehicle and trailer checks before and after use.

• Ensuring all movements are carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures.

• Following all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.

• Maintaining clear communication with the transport and warehouse teams.

• Reporting any vehicle defects, damage, or operational issues promptly.

• Keeping the yard organised and ensuring vehicles and trailers are parked in designated areas.

• Working efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.

THE REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience as a Shunter Driver or in a similar driving role is essential.

• A valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence, where required for the role.

• A valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card, where applicable.

• Good understanding of vehicle and trailer safety procedures.

• Ability to manoeuvre trailers safely and accurately in a busy yard environment.

• Strong awareness of health and safety requirements.

• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work.

• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently under pressure.

• A proactive attitude with a strong commitment to safe working practices.
