Salary – Days: £37,918.30 per annum
Salary – Nights: £37,918.35 + £3,060.40 night shift premium
Licence Required: LGV Driver’s Licence – Class 1
About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for experienced LGV Shunter Drivers to join a busy logistics operation in Runcorn on a temp-to-perm basis.
You will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers around the site, ensuring vehicles are positioned correctly and operational requirements are met. This is a key role within the yard operation, working closely with the warehouse and transport teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely shunt trailers and vehicles around the site.
- Position trailers correctly at designated bays and loading areas.
- Carry out vehicle and trailer checks in line with company procedures.
- Ensure all trailer movements are completed safely and efficiently.
- Follow all site health & safety procedures and yard rules.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse, transport and yard teams.
- Report any vehicle, trailer or equipment defects immediately.
- Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation.
- Assist with general yard duties as required.
- Maintain a high standard of safety and professionalism at all times.
Essential:
- Valid LGV Driver’s Licence – Class 1.
- Previous experience as a shunter or LGV/HGV driver.
- Good understanding of yard and vehicle safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual and safety-focused.
- Comfortable working a rotating 4 on / 4 off day and night shift pattern
