HGV Shunter Driver – East Midlands Gateway

Location: East Midlands Gateway
Pay Rate: £16.38 per hour
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off
Job Type: Full-time

We are currently recruiting for HGV Shunter Drivers to join our team at East Midlands Gateway on a fantastic 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, paying £16.38 per hour.

The Role

As a Shunter Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of trailers around the site, ensuring vehicles are positioned correctly and yard operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely shunt trailers around the East Midlands Gateway site

  • Move and position trailers in designated areas and loading bays

  • Carry out daily vehicle and trailer safety checks

  • Follow all site health & safety procedures

  • Work closely with the transport and warehouse teams

  • Maintain a safe and organised yard environment

  • Complete required paperwork and vehicle checks

  • Adhere to company and site procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence

  • Previous shunting experience preferred

  • Good understanding of HGV and yard safety

  • Reliable, punctual and professional

  • Good communication skills

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team

  • Safety-conscious attitude
