Our client a West London based Groundwork and Civil Engineering contractor currently seek x3 experienced Shuttering Carpenters for one of their projects in Thornton Heath near Croydon.
It is essential that you hold a CSCS card and can provide recent work references for similar work undertook
The work itself is new build apartments
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications to determine formwork requirements.
- Construct, assemble, and build shutters for formwork, lift shafts, Walls , and Stair cases
- Using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to create molds for concrete pouring.
- Ensure formwork is properly aligned, supported, and secured to withstand the pressure of wet concrete during curing.
- Perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks safely while maintaining high standards of quality and precision.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues
- Remove formwork/or shutters carefully after concrete has set, ensuring no damage occurs to the finished structure.
- Maintain a clean work environment, inspect tools and equipment regularly, and adhere strictly to safety protocols on-site.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Shuttering Carpenter or in a similar carpentry role within commercial or industrial construction environments.
- Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in construction sites is essential for success in this role.
This is an immediate start for the right candidates and will be circa 8 months work
