Job Title: Shuttering Carpenter (Formwork)
Location: Central London (Zone 1)
Salary/Rate: £22.00 - £25.00 per hour (Negotiable depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
The Role
We are seeking experienced Shuttering Carpenters to join a major commercial development in Central London. You will be working alongside a leading Tier 1 contractor, responsible for constructing high-spec concrete formwork systems to strict engineering specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Constructing, erecting, and dismantling traditional timber and systemised formwork (PERI, Doka, MEVA).
Setting up concrete shutters for columns, cores, retaining walls, slab decks, and staircases.
Working directly from structural drawings and technical blueprints.
Ensuring all installations are plumb, level, line-perfect, and fully secured prior to concrete pours.
Working closely with the steel fixing and site engineering teams to maintain project timelines.
Requirements
CSCS Card: Blue (NVQ Level 2 in Formwork) or Gold (Advanced/Supervisor).
Experience: Minimum 3+ years of proven shuttering carpentry experience on commercial or high-rise projects.
Tools: Full personal tool kit suited for shuttering/formwork, including cordless power tools.
PPE: Full standard PPE (Hard hat, high-vis, steel-toe boots, gloves, eye protection).
Work Ethic: Strong commitment to site safety standards, punctuality, and high quality workmanship.
