About the role
The Pension Transfers Specialist role is integral to delivering first-class customer service across a comprehensive product suite. The successful candidate will provide robust analytical and operational support, enhancing client service capabilities, regulatory compliance, and process efficiencies. You will collaborate closely with financial advisers, end consumers, and internal teams, including Product, Technology, and Pensions.
Key Responsibilities
Transfer Processing & Client Operations
· Process full and partial transfers in and out across ISA, GIA, SIPP, and other product wrappers with accuracy and within agreed SLAs.
· Manage incoming valuations, asset acceptance, eligibility checks, and transfer instructions across Altus, Origo, CREST, and internal systems.
· Monitor, track, and chase transfer progress, liaising with ceding parties, custodians, fund managers, and advisers.
· Resolve internal and external queries, ensuring clear, timely, and professional communication aligned with service standards.
· Support European stock transfers, JISAs, fund transfers, and more complex cases where required.
Oversight, Controls & Reporting
· Produce daily MI, update KPIs, and maintain accurate oversight across the transfer pipeline.
· Perform and verify CREST checks, reconciliations, and regulatory control requirements.
· Approve payments and transfer-related financial movements in line with internal governance.
· Maintain an audit-ready environment, ensuring transfer processing adheres to FCA, HMRC, CASS, and industry rules.
Skills, Experience & Competencies
· Extensive experience managing ISA, GIA, and SIPP transfers within a platform, wealth management, or financial services environment.
· Strong understanding of transfer rules, regulations, and industry standards, including re-registration and cash transfer processes.
· Hands-on experience with transfer systems such as Altus, Origo, and familiarity with B2C or adviser platform processes.
· Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage critical, high-risk processes.
· Proven ability to work independently, proactively, and under pressure while maintaining high accuracy.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate complex issues clearly.
· Advanced Excel skills for analysis, reporting, and reconciliation.
· Strong experience reviewing, refining, and implementing operational procedures.
· Analytical, process-driven mindset with the ability to identify root causes and implement improvements.
Skills & Qualifications
· Knowledge of Consumer Duty FCA principle 12.
· 10+ years of experience in financial services or wealth management
· Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements in custody and investment services
· Experience in policy review, process documentation, and control frameworks
· Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
· Outstanding communication abilities with clients and internal stakeholders
· Ability to balance client service excellence with governance responsibilities
